Japanese folk fusion quartet Mitsune delivers a breathtaking 25-minute continuous concept album - a "forbidden sound journey" bridging tradition and psychedelic experimentation. Comprising two shamisen player/vocalists, a contrabassist, and a percussionist, the ensemble weaves Tsugaru shamisen roots with Khaleeji rhythms, Indian raga, prog, jazz, and cinematic soundscapes. Recorded live to tape at Brewery Studios in Berlin and sculpted into wild, transcendent dimensions by producers Adam Sait and Pascal Karier, the album reflects deeply on human existence, nature, and transience.
