The Sound Council proudly presents the official reissue of O-RYLEY featuring Kellee Patterson, a breathtaking Modern Soul recording originally produced in Los Angeles circa 1984. Floating effortlessly between sophisticated Modern Soul and Jazz-Funk, "(No More) Sobie Dobie Girl" is a richly textured recording built on lush orchestration, warm analog keys, gentle rhythms, and elegant arrangements. At it's heart is the unmistakable voice of Kellee Patterson, whose graceful vocal performance transforms the song into an uplifting meditation on resilience and inner strength. Dreamlike yet deeply soulful, the record possesses an intimacy that reveals something new with every listen.
On the flip side, "Hanging Out With The Sunshine" radiates effortless optimism through sun-drenched reggae melodies, breezy instrumentation, and Kellee Patterson's unmistakable voice. Equal parts sophisticated groove and island daydream, the recording captures the warmth and musical elegance that defined Los Angeles' independent Modern Soul movement during the early 1980s.
