In 1979, superstar R&B veterans The Spinners were rewarded by their label Atlantic Records with their first greatest hits album simply titled The Best of Spinners. Featuring the classic line-up of the Phillipe Soul Wynn, Henry Fambrough, Pervis Jackson, Bobbie Smith and Billy Henderson, these Detroit superstars ruled the charts for many soulful years.
Featuring a ton of smash hits produced and written by the likes of Philly favorites Thom Bell and Linda Creed, and featuring The Sound Of Philadelphia and Motown players like MFSB, and the Funk Brothers' Bob Babbit, 'The Best of Spinners' album has become one of their most loved works in their stunning gold and platinum career.
